Criminal Justice Support Worker
Location: Greater Manchester (Community Based)
 Contract: Temporary 3 – 6 Months
Are you passionate about supporting women to overcome challenges and make positive changes in their lives? We’re looking for a dedicated Project Worker to provide trauma informed, one-to-one support to women in the community who are at risk of, or have had contact with, the criminal justice system. This is a rewarding role where you’ll help women build confidence, access the right services, and move towards stability and independence.
Please Note – This role is offered within a women only service, and therefore only women need apply (exemption under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010). 
You must also hold current Prison, Probation, or Police (Level 2) vetting obtained within the last six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, trauma responsive support through one-to-one sessions and structured interventions.
 - Complete risk and needs assessments, developing tailored support plans that address the root causes of offending.
 - Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners such as probation, housing, mental health and substance misuse services.
 - Ensure accurate case management and record keeping in line with service policies and reporting requirements.
 - Make safeguarding referrals and contribute to risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all service users.
 - Promote continuous improvement through reflective practice, supervision and professional development.
 - Provide one to one advocacy and support to a caseload of service users: adopting a person centred approach
 - Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments and co-create support plans across the nine pathways to re offending.
 - Take a collaborative multi-agency approach to supporting women, including representing and supporting women at multi-agency meetings. 
 - Conduct regular risk management and complete safeguarding referrals where appropriate and support women’s safety through involving them in the safeguarding process. 
 
Person Specification; 
- Experience supporting individuals facing multiple disadvantages (e.g. homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse) within the criminal justice system is essential.
 
- Competent in managing a varied caseload, prioritising tasks, and working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
 - A trauma informed approach and strong understanding of safeguarding principles.
 
- Confidence working with partner agencies to deliver joined-up, person-centred support.
 - Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
 - Good IT skills and attention to detail for case recording and reporting.
 - Someone who is compassionate, resilient and proactive, a team player who is motivated by seeing women achieve their goals and rebuild their lives.
 
- Knowledge of the impact that contact with the criminal justice system may have on women and understanding of the root causes of women’s offending and the importance of women specific provision.
